Nano Captures and Presets

You can have 5 banks of 5 Captures on the Nano. You can store up to 256 User Neural Captures that can be managed via the Cortex Cloud app.

What isn’t clear to me is if I create a Preset it will be using one of the 25 Captures. If want to use additional Captures from the 250 User set, I presume my Preset will be affected when I move it. I am asking rather than doing so I don’t upset the tones I have setup.

Captures that are used in a preset aren’t affected by the 25 capture slots. There’s a 26:th capture slot “from the library” that is used if you switch to a preset where the capture isn’t loaded into the capture banks.

Same thing with the impulse response files. 5 slots and an extra “library”-slot when a preset uses one of the user IR files.

Excellent news. Thanks

Hi l4rs3rik, i don’t see this 26th slot you show. I choose a preset and when I go to CAPTURE, I can only see the 25 slots. What is the way you go to choose a capture library without replacing all the other in the place ? THX

That is really interesting. Maybe make a Preset with the capture and exchange the capture in the banks after creating the preset? I’ll try later

It’s exactly what I do, BUT, AFTER, I have to replace the capture of ALL the presets using it. Because exchanging the capture un a slot, change all the presets using the slot. SO, my astuce it to use capture slot for changing, in a preset using ONLY ONE capture. It make me easy after to proceed. Is it clear ? If someone know a better solution ? Thx

I’m still learning how to “best” use the Nano Cortex for me and I’m not really sure where I end up with presets. A preset is basically everything in the signal path, each of the signal path slots. (Gate, pitch, capture, ir, modulation, delay and reverb.)

But using the capture bank button and turning the footswitch to change the capture and keep everything else in the signal the same is also very nice way of doing things…

You are right ! I do the same to copy presets with same settings ! :+1:
