Mesa models (I’m not referring to captures) definitely need more controls that are important to shape their sound, such as: power switch (150w - 100w - 50w), rectifier switch (diodes - tubes), bias switch (6L6 - EL34) and voltage switch (bold - spongy).
Hmm, my DR in my studio doesn’t have the power switch 
It’s obviously older but those are some great suggestions especially the rectifier and voltage switches.
My Trem-O-Verb doesn’t have it too. 
But all the new models have got it and we can say that it’s almost the same difference between the triple, dual and single rectifier models.
