Since QC already has audio to MIDI capabilities to use in the synth, it would be nice to have an option for the MIDI notes to come out of midi out port. Then we could use our own synths.

Ha! As a guitar synth player this could be a good backup or replacement for the Fishman Triple Play. I use synths every day in the studio or live (check my youtube or Perfect Beasts band).
If you want a decent shot at synth guitar then I also have the Quad set up with an FX send before any FX straight out to my computer. I can use Midi Guitar 3 as a guitar synth.
It tracks faster than the Triple Play (it can keep up with Roy Marchbank), but isn’t as good at chords or dynamics.
Everyone is obsessed by how fast synth guitar can track , but when you use it properly it’s all about the chords and melodies (and wierd sounds).

I’ve had similar experience with the Jam Origin MIDI Guitar plugin… I was extremely impressed with how well it tracks since it is only using an audio signal. I bought a Fishman TriplePlay thinking the individual pickups per string would make it even better, but I still preferred the Jam Origin plugin. I ended up selling my TriplePlay after a few months.
Aye, the Jam Origin is better in terms of studio stuff and the tracking is excellent. There’s a hex pickup version I’d like to try, but I’m too skint and they don’t have demo equipment. If that works then that’s the gamechanger I’m looking for.
The Triple Play is much more functional for live playing if you use it with Mainstage.
