Looper X not responding initially until edited

CorOS Version: 3.3.0

Describe your issue:
Hello! Love the new update and wanted to pass this on.

It appears that presets with the looper X lose the settings within the looper and also do not respond to incoming midi messages to recall the looper X page and hide it.

Once the looper X is opened by tapping the screen and settings are edited, then the screen will open and close with incoming midi messages (I use a Morningstar mc6).

Thanks!

Steps to reproduce your issue:

  1. Open preset with looper x in preset.
  2. Incoming midi messages will not recall looper x page

I expected this to happen:

I have tried the following things:

  • I have tried opening looper x and editing parameters which allow it to function normally until navigating away from the preset and reloading.
  • I have tried saving the preset after getting looper x to respond.

Anyone else having this issue?

I’ve seen a few midi issues reported- many were sorted by rebooting, or deleting the device and re-instantiating. Also seems the update may change some midi setting defaults in the main device menu.

Have you reported to support@neuraldsp.com ? If it’s a bug, the more they hear about it the sooner they can address

Yep I cut and pasted what I put here and sent to support.

Thanks!

I’ll spend some more time tonight and try deleting the looper x block and replacing. Might just try building a new kitchen sink preset and see if that fixes it.

thanks again!

Just FYI:

I tried removing and replacing the looper x block. This allows it to work properly until the unit is rebooted. Then the issue comes back. Same for both my QC units.

I’ve sent the diagnostic reports to support and they said they will pass on to the devs. Hope it’s an easy bug fix.

I also had some weirdness yesterday with LooperX on 3.3. The play/stop buttons would not be active even though the looper was on screen and a loop was playing. One time the loop started playing even though i didn’t hit any switch.

What I see happening on my end is the looper not responding to recording loops correctly - at first. So If you loop something simple you will get a dramatic increase in volume followed by a phasing issue. The only fix I have found is restarting the QC. This does clear up the issue, however it only works for the preset you are currently on. I did see the post of adding a gain “phase inversion” block but that inverts all of your current sound. Any updates with this?
