Has anyone noticed any excellent, dynamically authentic captures of the Klon Centaur or Morning Glory available in the market for the Quad Cortex? I’m on the lookout for something that truly captures the essence and nuances of these pedals. Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!
- Have you tried the Myth drive (Neural’s Klon model) that is already on the unit itself?
- Capture’s are merely snapshots of a given setting of a pedal or amp; The “nuances” and lore of a Klon is its ability to dynamically be a clean boost, or dial up the overdrive on the pedal. This is something that you won’t get with a capture, unless you get 2 “captures” - one of a clean boost, one of the higher gain/ overdriven sound.
- Are you looking for it to do something specific with your tone and do you have a version of either pedal of your own you could capture on your own?

- I had a QC from my friend at home for a week, and now I’ve been waiting for several weeks to get it, as it’s currently out of stock in a well-known online store… The thing is, from what I’ve tried, I prefer the capture models over QC’s own models…
- I also have the Tonex pedal, and I ordered a KLON CENTAUR from the company Tone Factor, and there are several different captures, meaning multiple snapshots, which is perfectly fine with me…
- Of course, I don’t have an original KLON CENTAUR, only on the Tonex Pedal. What I’m looking for is a very gentle overdrive, just like the KLON. I do have a Tube Screamer, but it has a lot more mid frequencies, and I use it only for a specific sound. I’m interested in maintaining the dynamics to have an experience as close as possible to playing on a real tube amp. This makes a difference when I play solos. Many people compare captures and original gear by playing chords, which isn’t really indicative…

- Bummer I know all about the waiting game. It’s the pits. But dont rule out the Myth Drive when you get your QC; Lots of things that can be adjusted (input trim, Comp in front/after the pedal etc) that aren’t just twisting the VOL, GAIN, TREBLE knobs on the “pedal” itself.
2-3: Many folks have captured other modelers (toneX, Kemper, etc) as pedals and/or amps on the QC with some success. Try searching that here on the forum, I know I’ve read it, I just cant remember specifically who did it and how detailed they were about the process; I’m sure if you were able to track them down on a thread here, most would be happy to help you get things dialed in.
Good luck, & welcome

You can capture these sounds with the QC if you prefer them. I like the Mythical drive that comes with the QC. My analog Klon clone is this one: Mythical Overdrive
I’ve got a capture from Tone Junkie of a Klon and it sounds pretty damn good, but I’m no expert on a Klon. You should be able to look it up on the cortex app.
