Less hi-end when using external amp

I love the sound of the QC when using in ear monitoring. But sometimes I’m using the QC as a pedalboard with an external Tube amp. Today I did an A-B test going straight into the amp and there was a huge dirrerence in hi end and dynamics. Have anyone tried this? And any ideas on how to fix it?:crossed_fingers:

Could be the impedance setting on the input of the QC.

Other possible things-

-Long cable runs could be degrading the signal. Esp if you are using 4 cable method with long runs without a buffer.

-The signal could be clipping either at the input, in the effects loop of the QC itself, or when outputting to the tube amp. If the signal is peaking in the QC or coming out of it, then the sound would change going into the head.

-Your effects loop of the tube amp is changing the high end of the signal. It’s common for the effects loop to change the tone of the signal slightly. Depends on the amp, but it’s fairly common.

-Possible cable issue

-Output from the QC could be lower than if you plug directly in. It could be pushing the amp slightly less and affect the way you perceive the high end of the sound.

Thank you so much!! The impedance fixed it.
I sat it to 1 m ohm and it made a huge difference, suddenly my Fender sounds crystal clear again.
