Input 1 gain during capture?

Hi, I read the Wiki QC link on capturing amps and am trying to capture my Nolly plugin and was wondering what input 1 gain should be set to?

Based on the wiki, it seems to say that IN 1 gain should be set at -12db for clean tones and -6db for crunch/lead tones? Wondering if this is right?

Thanks.

See Capture Techniques - Quad Cortex Wiki. Basically, -12 dB for clean captures and -6dB for distortion captures. These are just conventions so that the captures have similar levels. -12dB for cleans ensures there’s headroom to avoid output limiting or digital clipping for clean spikes. -6dB for distortion is just a consistent, reasonable level that seems to somewhat match what NDSP used for the amp blocks.
