I’m sure it’s obivous to all, but if I place effects, amps, etc on the second of third “line” where would that put them “in real life”.
IN other words, if I place a reverb on the second line (path?), where would that place that effect in a real pedalboard? After the amp and cabinet,…before?
Thanks for a simple explanation! I’m sure the light bulb will go on with some help here…
Two pictures, depicting the classic setup. Unfortunately in German.
However… not hard to understand
First picture: Amp with effect loop
Second picture: Amp without effect loop
I assume you’re using a QC?
In general the order is left to right. If there’s a splitter, the order will move to that new line, again left to right, then mix back in and continue from that point, also left to right.
If that doesn’t make sense, post a screenshot of a preset that’s confusing you.
A pitch shifter will likely track and sound better if it is first in the chain, seeing and operating only on the dry guitar signal.
Thanks for the responses and I probably wasn’t clear in my question. Do the the effects or amps in the second or third line come after the effects and amp in the first line?
That depends on how you configure your inputs and outputs of your four signal paths. You can route them in series, or parallel/stereo.
Rabea just did something about that. A demo. Check it out if you want. Watch videos of guys like the studio rats the early quad set ups or maybe give in and read the instructions they have online. It does help. I try to keep things pretty simple tbh.
