Hi, I have the QC mini and successfully connected an expression pedal to the normal EXP input. Now I have seen that EXP2 is available via MIDI but I really don’t really understand what this means.
I thought that I can just connect my expression pedal to the MIDI Input and can then use it the same way as EXP1. But thats not the case. So what do I need to do or is this even possible with my regular expression pedal? I also don’t know anything about how MIDI works, so help is appreciated.
weirdly, they don’t seem to have covered this in the manual, so it would be good to contact Support@neuralDSP.com and ask what they recommend- then post it here. That could help future users figure it out.
I assume you’ll need a TRS-to-midi adapter for your XP cable connection but they’ll be able to specify exactly what kind.
Thanks, I have now asked support and will report back when I have an answer. Right now it looks to me like the EXP2 is only reacting to the correct MIDI messages from whichever source but not working with a regular expression pedal.
It says in the manual the expression two is only available via midi. It also lists the CC numbers for expression 1&2. You need to plug your expression pedal into another device that can take an expression pedal and convert it to midi CC.
There’s a lot of different midi controllers one can use for adding a second expression, myself I’ve chosen the Ampero Control for its size and number expansion ports…
