Hotone Ampero II Press Expression Pedal - Footswitch not working in QC

I’ve just picked up the Hotone Press expression pedal with the aim of using it as a wah/volume pedal for the QC.

It has two outputs - exp & footswitch

I’ve got a TRS lead plugged into each and then into the QC (exp in 1, footswitch in 2)

When in the configuration screen of the QC, I’m able to calibrate the expression part, but when trying to calibrate the footswitch in exp2, clicking the footswitch doesn’t seem to register. Some times it goes as far as 50%, but most of the time stays at 0. I would expect clicking the footswitch in would result in 100, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

I’ve tried a few different leads (TRS and non-TRS), as well as switching around EXP1 & EXP2, but the footswitch part never seems to configure correctly.

I have also tried plugging this pedal into an HX Stomp and the footswitch worked immediately - so I’m really unsure of where the issue could be situated?

Edit: In addition, I’ve just read through other topics on here, and I’ve tried switching on ‘latch emulation’, but this also doesn’t seem to work for me

you don’t calibrate the switch on the XP for QC.
It should just work when you assign it to the bypass of any block.

Try it with this preconfigured template preset:

Lane 1 should respond to the XP toe-switch by toggling between the vol and wah blocks

Mine works fine with the QC. How did you configure the Expression Settings on the specific block?

Thanks for your help on this

I’ve recorded a quick screen capture of what’s happening now, along with the exp config.

It now seems that clicking the footswitch will engage it for a couple of seconds, and then it will drop off. In the video I’m clicking the footswitch, then moving the pedal back away from it (to not interfere) - the fx block will stay on for a moment, then bypass.

Looking at the exp config screen, you can see that the exp2 will shoot up to 1.00, then slowly decrease

@xush - I’ve tried downloading your preset but I’m seeing the same issues there as well

Edit: I’ve just changed the Latch Emulation on, and it seems to be working now. Although there does seem to be a bit of a delay between clicking the footswitch and the bypass turning on/off (probably about a second) - is this to be expected?

I have the same problem with a double expression pedal: I only get a momentary press, not a permanent hold.

I had this too!
When i finished with my 9-5 work later i’ll look into my configuration. It was a weird workaround which was so easy i didn’t got this in the first setup

Generally, you need latch emulation ON and make sure there are no other assignments for the Bypass, esp on XP1 for auto-bypass. XP1 should be assigned to “pedal” only
