Ground lift option

Can somebody please help me by explaining the difference between the ground lift turned on and off in Quad Cortex?

If there are two or more paths to ground, it can create a big loop that acts like an antenna that picks up all sorts of interference from noisy power lines, radio etc. In that situation, lifting one of the ground connections breaks that loop, and should reduce noise.

Yep. If you are connected to two different devices (for example output 1 to an amp and output 3 to a mixing desk) that are connected to the same power circuit (doesn’t have to be the same multi outlet, but can also be the same power circuit inside the walls that connects power sockets that are placed pretty far away from each other) you should lift the ground on one of the outputs, so that your QC is just grounded by one of the connected devices. Ground loops don’t have to always make problems, but by doing so you are safe.
