I have created a simple patch and have the effects loop block so I can use my Marshall JVM as the main amp sound. However no gate works. The gate in input 1 doesn’t work and if I add a utility block (with gate) either before or after the effects loop block that doesn’t work either. Is there something really basic I’m missing? Please help. Cheers
Is the gate in the effects loop of the JVM? Typically you would want the gate to cut down on amp/distortion hiss, aside from maybe hand noise.
Use the Adaptive Gate S/C and use the input of the sidechain as the QC input.
Have the gate placed in the effects loop of your amp/QC to cut the noise.
Hi, thanks. I only tried the standard noise gate, but using the S/C and changing the input worked. I now need to find out what is causing the hum. Cheers
