Feature Requests For All Plugins

My Feature Request for all NDSP plugins is to either allow the same CC Value /Number MIDI messages to control the same Microphones regardless of the Amp used or to allow more than 100 MIDI messages.

As you can see in the screenshot above, I am unable to MIDI map the entire Rabea plugin because I have reached the current NDSP limit of 100 MIDI messages. Why? Because Each of the Microphones are treated as THREE unique devices by the plugin, and requires THREE unique MIDI messages to be selected. Now multiply that x 6 because there are 6 microphones, and then multiply that x 2 because there are two Cabs…

For example, in the Archetype Rabea X plugin there are three Amps: Clean, Crunch, Lead.
There are also six different Microphones available: Dyn57, Dyn421, Con184, Con414, Ribb121, Ribb160.

Also there are:
Dyn57 Clean Amp Microphone
Dyn57 Crunch Amp Microphone and
Dyn57 Lead Amp Microphone.

…and each of these Dyn57 microphones requires different CC message to be activated…Why?

Is it because they are not real microphones, but just unique signal captures who are different when captured with different Amps so they require unique MIDI address? Most likely, but anyhow…

6 Microphones x 3 Amps = 18 Microphones x 2 Cabs = 36 Unique Microphones eating up 36 unique MIDI messages.

Archetype Rabea X is a plugin requiring more than 100 unique MIDI messages to be fully MIDI mapped and controlled, yet at the same time the plugin does not allow more than 100 MIDI messages to be programmed. Duh

Dear NDSP, I hope you fix this issue so we are able to MIDI map the entire plugin the way it should.

Asking not to be snarky, but because I’m trying to understand: What is the practical purpose of mapping every single combination of microphone to cabinet with MIDI?

I love Snarky Puppy , so don’t hesitate to be like them.

Absolutely valid question.

Why would you want to MIDI map and control anything in a plugin?

Possible answers:

  1. Because you want to control it.
  2. Because the best way to dial a sound is by having your hands free when you play.
  3. Because when your hands are free you can quickly hear the difference in the response while you are playing different things demanding different voices.

Anyhow, NDSP customer support responded to me promising that they will look into it, so fingers crossed.

I can’t recommend this baby enough.

A plugin no longer means what it meant before
