Factory neural capture numbering

Hi all, I just got my QC, I play bass, and wanted to use it for its nice amp modeling possibilities. I’m looking at the provided captures, for example the Aguilar DB751 (aggi 751), but there are a whole bunch of them. How should I interpret the numbering? I had hoped there would be maybe a handful for generally different modes/sounds, but with the amount provided out of the box, it’s almost analysis paralysis. Any idea? Or is it just trial and error?

it’s one of the enduring annoyances of the QC; those factory captures are a guessing game. No info whatsoever- you just have to earball them.

I mean, obviously they are gain/EQ adjustments, but we don’t know what increments. Maybe they could be reverse-engineered thru a meter to determine EQ differences, but there’s a TON of them in that Aggi drop alone.

I volunteered to do the data entry if they have the info archived, and to proofread the manual, but they didn’t take me up on it. I guess they like some mystery in the mix

It’s interesting that some models were replaced by captures, if I understood the docs correctly. Obviously modeling is more difficult than a good capture, but the benefit of a good model is a single point of entry vs trying dozens of captures. Oh well, I’ll set up a loop and start changing captures.

the vague wording they used on that can be confusing.
There never were models of those devices, they just PLANNED for there to be. Instead, they ended up dropping all those captures onto the QC. Not sure what precipitated that, but I’d assume that’s around the time their modeling process saw some major changes and rather than scrap the captures they’d created to populate a model, they just dumped them onto the QC in their raw state.

You’ve got it now- setting up a loop and scrolling thru the caps is the only real way to home in on a preferred tone. For now, anywaY
