I’m looking for more information regarding the expression pedal capabilities-apologies if this has been covered before or is even included in the manual. I’m connecting my Mission Engineering expression pedal (the one with the Neural logo on it-not sure what model it is). I’m trying to get it to work as both a volume pedal as I’m really into using volume swells and ambient sounds but at the same time I’d like to control parameters such as feedback and time on a delay block that would make it oscillate and sound weird. Obviously I’d like this to work in different scenes and not simultaneously. For example, I’d like the expression pedal to work as a volume pedal in one scene and as a feedback/delay time controller in another. What are my options? Bear in mind that using the switch on my expression pedal by inserting another TRS cable is another option. Thank you in advance!
Like many of us, I also like using an exp pedal to control delays, modulation, etc., any of their parameters. But I wouldn’t want to sacrifice volume pedal control at the same time. A modestly priced 2nd pedal like a DVP4 or similar might be your best solution. Works for me, anyway.
As long as you’re ok with toggling between 2fx that XP will be fine. You will want to assign the SWITCH to the bypass control of each of the 2 fx blocks. Set one to invert range.
Or, you can assign their bypass to Scenes and turn them on and off that way, though it takes a little more tap-dancing
What you can’t do is assign them to auto bypass where the pedal movement turns them on, because they’ll both activate together and you can’t separate them
You could possibly have one scene where a volume block is engaged for using the pedal as a volume. Then in another scene disable the volume block, and have a delay block turn on (with whichever parameters assigned to the pedal).
Of course you’d have to assign those controls all to the pedal, but at least by bypassing certain blocks you can just have certain scenes for each parameter needed
