Hmmm, interesting that you’re have a similar, random distortion issue to what Leo is experiencing but, in his case, the channel switch is not changing. Are you editing via Cortex Control or right on your QC?
Via Cortex Control.
I sent an email to the support , and they prompty replied that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix !
Cool! Thanks for contacting them, Ben.
Leo, we’re you using Control to edit or were you doing it on the QC? Maybe it’s a CC issue.
Hi Pete! Sorry for the delay to reply you, I was traveling. I was editing directly on the QC, I don’t use CC. Yesterday I ran more tests using only the amp and cab blocks and had no issues. Later today I will run more tests using more blocks and give you all a feedback, ok? Thanks!
Hello.
Yesterday I tried the Dumbbell model for the first time. I tried it with both Two Rocks 212s.
Not what I expected. My fault, probably. I have to try again.
Any other speaker recommended instead of the two rocks?
Thank you!
No problem, Leo. Thanks for letting us know. Sounds like the problem is with with the QC software, not CC. I’m not seeing other problems with the update so hopefully NDSP can resolve this issue and have a new, updated update quickly.
I’ve been playing it again today. It sounds good but… it sounds compressed to me. In a good way, but I expected more dynamics. The response to attack is ok. Strange
Interesting. The clean channel sounds compressed too?
Not really. Clean channel sounds as expected.
What I mean with “compressed” is that I expected a lot of dynamics in the OD channel (with just a touch of gain) and there are not. Maybe that’s the way the real amp works (I’m afraid we’ll never know by ourselves).
The Eq controls are subtle.
Just my opinion.
Thanks for your review. Concerning the EQ, remember that engaging the “Boost" switch bypasses the tone stack (EQ) so the EQ will nolonger work. Not sure if you are using the Boost function.
Yes, I’ve tried all modes, but thank you for the advice. Having so many emulations available I don’t need all of them have a great EQ amplitude. I’m sure they have done a very good job with the ODS and I’ll hope I’ll find my way with it.
Oh; if I’m not wrong, with the Boost engaged, the Eq still have some effect, very little; at least it increases the noise floor. But I have to confirm this.
As with any amp model or capture, no matter how accurately they were created, I’m sure the Dumble isn’t for everyone. I look forward to trying it out to see if it suits my taste.
