New quad cortex user here, coming over from the Helix, and there’s a few features that are “missing” as far as I can tell from a quick look about forums and on the device and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a few obvious ones.
Firstly, I used Snapshots on the helix (same thing as scenes) and one of the things I really liked was I could customise the footswitch behaviour so that if I hit a button, then hit it again it’d return me to the previous scene - I use this a lot when playing solos to switch scenes to one with a harmoniser on. Hit the button, play for 1 bar with the harmoniser and then without having to move my foot, hit the button again to go back to my regular lead setting. Is there any way I can emulate this on the quad?
I’ve also had to put 2 minivoicers on, as I’ve got a split to have my IRs go to the XLR out but not the 1/4 inch - and the minivoicer sounds absolutely terrible before the cab so I need to have one on each branch of the split. Otherwise, I’d probably just try to use the stomp mode for this.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to emulate the Helix’s ability with one switch for Scenes (yet). It’s a popular feature request though, for the QC to have ‘command center’-type functions. The only way you can do what you’re asking is to use an XP, or use Hybrid Mode with half Scenes/half Stomps. Then you could set your Harmonizer as a stomp with a momentary switch. You can assign them both to the same switch.
also, it’s hard to say for sure without seeing your preset grid, but a lot of users prefer to send a signal without IR via an FX Loop Send block instead of using a split to a different Output. It can save a lot of real-estate, but it might not work in your case if you’re putting the pitch effect after the cab
