Disabling Cab Block Globally

I am starting to experiment with pushing the QC through the FX return of my tube amp and cabinet. It does sound fine but is there a way to disable the cab block for all current presets to eliminate the need do it each time I load a new preset?

Currently there is not a way to do this. Here is an existing feature request, though itā€™s quite old and doesnā€™t have many votes.

The closest you can get currently is using the Global Bypass feature under ā€˜Settingsā€™. This will allow you to bypass the cabs/IRs/captures globally, but only row by row. It does not allow bypassing cabs at a specific output jack.

I forgot about the Global Bypass feature using rows. @ibanman55, you may have to reconfigure your presets to take advantage of that. Aaaaand hereā€™s a thread containing everyoneā€™s collective gripes on that feature:

The somewhat IMO quirky implementation of global cab bypass in row-by-row instead of output selection may be with us for quite a while or possibly for the life cycle of the QC. No way for us to know for sure.

It occurs to me that for those who wish to use it regularly, it would be a useful preset design convention to set up the output block for the output you want to have the cab bypassed on, in the same row in every preset. Most likely the output going to your on-stage monitor.

That way, when you designate the row in which you want to bypass the cab, it would always affect the same output. At best a workaround, as this can get tricky depending on the preset routing you require. That, and the persistent requirement to spread the DSP/core usage across the two pairs of paths, in more DSP hungry presets.

Would still like to see output based global cab bypass! Working around the current limitations by anticipating them with a preset template that always places the desired output jack on the same row you are intending to use for cab bypass might be the best option for some QC users now though.

No this is great, exactly what I was looking for, thank you all for the input. I see how others could want the option to have separate control with this via outputs but in my option, if youā€™re looking to bypass cabs because of a real amp, might as well put a microphone on it and be done!! :sunglasses:
