DavLav talks about Amalgam Captures. Are they worth it?

I’ve always thought the QC sounded excellent right out of the box, so I surprised myself after reading this thread by forking out and buying the Amalgam Holy Trinity pack, which is the Marshall JT45, The Fender BFSR and the Vox AC30 TB. Combined with the included IR’s, I have to say they sound really really good, and the factory captures / models do pale in comparison. As someone else said, it’s breathed new life in to the QC for me.

ps, One thing I would add is some of the factory models/captures also sound really good with some high -end IR’s, either the ones that came with the Amalgam pack or some of the Tone Factor samples

I also just bought the Trinity pack. Sounds fantastic!

I got the packs separately, because with their 3 for 2 discount the individual packages were somewhat cheaper. Contact with Amalgam was pleasant. At first, not all packages showed up in my Cortex cloud, but the guys sorted it out (re-shared) very quickly.

That sounds like an identical experience to mine  And like you I bought the 3 seperately using the 3For2 code…

Just bought the new Slash Marshall AFD capture pack for the QC, it has become my instant favourite, sounds absolutely fantastic.

Hey man, thanks for the feedback. Really happy you like it.
I didn’t expect to care a lot about that amp, but turned out to be one of my favorites too. Really nails those GnR tones from the AFD era, which i too like a lot.
It would be great if you could find a minute to write a review on the site - that always helps

Thanks and kind regards,

Karlis
