Hi! Does anyone know if there are any way or plans to make Cortex Control able to use/edit without the device connected. So we could edit and then just plug Quad Cortex and export?
There are multiple requests from people asking to make Cortex Control operate wirelessly (via Bluetooth) but I don’t think that NDSP has ever mentioned it as an upcoming feature or whether it would even be a possibility with the current hardware.
Hi, thanks for your tip.
Anyway i meant something a little bit different than that. It’s not even the bluetooth, cause if the hardware isn’t equiped with bluetooth i believe it doesn’t make sense.
What i miss is the possibility of editing in the app without the Quad Cortex plugged. I could make several things and at some point i would just plugged and export the changes.
all of the models and effects etc live on the quad cortex, so for what you want to be possible, the cortex control app would actually need to be its own standalone modelling software with all of the models and effects installed on your desktop so that you could actually preview the changes you are making: the holy grail “unified neural dsp app” that people have been asking for since forever. this would be very cool, and i personally would love to see it! but that is like a whole new software project, not a simple update.
now theoretically it could be possible to adjust how the software currently works so you could edit without hearing a live preview of what you’re doing; this would be much simpler for the devs to do, relatively speaking, since they would only need to save the device interfaces on the cortex control side rather than the full models. but this is also probably not very useful to most people since most people would need to hear a preview of what they’re changing before they know whether or not the change is actually doing what they want it to.
Side note; according to some forum members, the QC does have Bluetooth circuitry built into the onboard wi-fi card but it’s never been used and it my not even be functional.
I’m not sure if you’re asking for the ability to use Cortex Control via wi-fi or have a plugin with all of the models and capabilities of the Quad Cortex. Either one would get my vote! Not holding my breath for either.
It depends, like you said it should be something very easy to do, and the export could even be done via net, and for my way of using it, sometimes it would be very helpfull to do some adjustments at home without pluging the Quad Cortex.
Things i notice while playing, ways of arranging pedals or others that i can think of that would be very handy to edit without being necessary to set it up.
Ahhh cool. Didn’t know about that detail.
What i meant is a way to edit your presets on the desktop app without plugging the quad cortex. Something that could make it possible to adjust volumes, the pedal chain or whatever and then just export those changes to our own user account via cloud and after then import it to the quad cortex.
