Connection - WIFI SSID

CorOS Version: 3.1

Describe your issue:
It is known that QC cannot connect to WIFI if hidden…
If you unhide the SSID, and enter the password, you can connect.

It was explained to me by customer service that this is expected behavior… HOWEVER.

There is a post by a moderator in 2022 ( if you search SSID) that the QC should bind to the SSID via the MAC address once connected AND should connect thereafter if you re-hide the SSID. This is FALSE.

The QC continues to state NO CONNECTION after initially connecting… re-hiding the SSID… and trying to connect again.

All systems I own including TV’s will ask for the SSID info even if already hidden and not previously connected, so that a user can enter it manually AND the device will remain connected when the SSID is hidden thereafter !

I get that the expected behavior to not connect when SSID is hidden and NOT previously connected with password… however the QC should be able to retain the information previously entered to always connect when the SSID is detected after the information has been entered and an initial connection was established.

If this is a technical limitation of the QC, then it should be stated (I have not found it or missed it maybe)

Steps to reproduce your issue:

  1. Step 1 - go to system CONNECTION
  2. Step 2 - connect to WIFI (enter SSID + password)
  3. Step 3 - close QC
  4. Step 4 - Hide Router SSID ( follow your model instructions)
  5. Step 5 - Turn on QC - go to systems - Connection = FAIL

Thanks for the update and associated details. I made the post you are referring to and believed it was working that way at the time but I may have been mistaken and surprised it doesn’t work that way. I would recommend to email support@neuraldsp.com to validate and or make NDSP aware etc. Thanks!
