I’ve just sold my kemper and purchased a 50 watt prs archon head to pair with my Mesa 4x12.it’s sound ok but i miss the sound that a modeller adds to the mix with all the smooth lead tones and smooth distortion.will the quad cortex connected to my amp and using the clean channel give me the best sounds that are capable with this unit.
I guess the best (= most uncolored) tones you will get with the Quad Cortex in the fx loop, if your amp has one.
If you want to use both the tube amps sounds and the QCs sounds you could use the 4 or 7 cable method. You can read about those in the manual under “Setup Examples”.
If you don’t have an fx loop the best results would be the qc into the amps input with a flat eq on the amp.
