clipping?

So I recently got the QC and I must say it is an amazing unit. I’ve only scratched the surface. However, I noticed something on day 1. The stock clean presets have so much clipping. If I roll back the volume on the amp in the preset and turn up the output on the amp, it somewhat goes away but not completely. After doing that, if I roll back the volume on the guitar slightly, it goes away. I’ve listed to it through headphones, through my DAW, recorded it and through my SSL2+ only. The only thing I haven’t done is run it through an FRFR (mine is backordered).

I’ve also change cables. I was originally listening to the QC through my headphones and I read some posts about how that could be the issue. So I cabled it to the SSL2+ with regular instrument cables. Then yesterday I thought that it maybe could be the instrument cables, so I cabled it with 2 brand new XLR cables. That didn’t help either.

Also, if I have open a blank preset, there is no clipping. It seems to be when you ad an amp that it happens.

I’ve done quite a bit of research on this and can’t find any useful posts that describe exactly what I’m hearing. There is no clipping on any of the inputs or outputs.

I am wondering if anyone has experienced this? Here is the clip: wave file

I’ve already contact the seller and they are sending me a new unit. I’m afraid that the clipping will be there still but I guess I will have to wait and see. Quite frustrating, needless to say.

Sounds like it could be your input gain. Share a screen shot of your I/O settings.

Hi

Turns out it was actually my guitar. I finally got my other guitar back from the shop. Once I tested the other guitar, the issue was not present. Plugged the guitar with the issues back in and the issue is there again. Really odd as it isn’t there when I play it with other amps.

Thanks!
