Changing both a real amp channel (midi) AND QC amps with the same switch (Peavey Invective 120)

I’ve got a request from a Peavey endorsed artist wanting to hybrid route their amp AND the QC simultaneously; am stumped on how to create a path for the amp to change from clean to dirty (Peavey Invective 120, MIDI channel changing) as well changing the clean/dirty capture in the QC on the same foot switch.

As we won’t be feeding into the Peavey as a poweramp ala Rabeas videos and instead into the front (with delay, verb, drive from the QC) it poses a confusion to where to split the signal.

Client is adamant about the “real” amp and cab being dominant, and the QC providing say, a JCM800 capture via XLR as well as the simple effects in front going to both “amps”. I have suggested a peavey caputure from the QC and run two lines; one to the amps return instead, but this isn’t accepted. I understand how to change JUST the amps channels via MIDI; it’s the second line I’m in a knot about..!

If anyone can help with a map or example of the path/ how to achieve this I’d be grateful

Seems pretty easy honestly. You should use scene mode for switching the amp head and captures. I feel that will give you more flexibility than just assigning the change to happen on one footswitch.

Use a block on the grid for “Send 1” to split the signal. The block will have a dry thru, so you can keep the signal going in the grid for the capture sound, while also splitting to the amp. Run a cable from Send 1 to the head.

Program a midi command to be sent from two separate footswitches. One for clean, one for dirty. This can be tweaked further depending on the sounds the person is going for. With scene mode you’ll have more flexibility for various sounds + switching the amp head for each scene. Plus it will just require only one footswitch press for each major sound adjustment with the effects + amp channel
