Automated Amp/Preset Switching

I have all my Quad Cortex presets/scene changes automated through Logic Pro, and I am also wanting the automation to change my actual amp channels. My QC is hooked up to a Mesa Badlander via 4 cable method. The Badlander does not have a MIDI input, so I have a Voodoo Lab MIDI controller changing my amp’s channels. I got all the settings right on the QC so it changes my amp’s channels when I hit the corresponding footswitches. But when I run Logic Pro to automate my presets/scenes, the presets and scenes change but the MIDI no longer works and my amp channel does not change.

I emailed Neural customer support and they told me this is not possible, so that is a huge bummer. They also said it’s still not possible even if I tried it with an amp that has MIDI built in. So basically it works if I physically hit the footswitch but not if the patch change is automated. I’ve done a lot of digging online and can’t find anything about this. Does anyone know if there is a solution? I would like to be able to use all of my amp’s channels alongside my QC and also not have to touch the pedal while I’m performing.

Can you send midi separately to your amp switcher and the QC? I would imagine this is possible since people have multiple amp modelers connected to laptops during live shows and they all seem to change fine.

I’m assuming the issue is having the QC send the correct midi to your midi switcher for the Mesa. I would just send separate signals to each device.

That would make sense, I’m going to see if I can figure that out - thank you for the response. I think this whole setup is more trouble than it’s worth lol.

This video shows a setup where a band is using multiple QC’s in a rack, and they each have their own midi switching. He starts showing the setup, including midi around 2:18 and 5:40.

This might be a cheap option to send midi to multiple units at once. It’s also powered by the midi cable itself, so you won’t need another power supply-
