When I bought this I wrongly assumed the bank button cycled through 5 banks of 4 presets and not just amp captures. To me this seems like a vastly more useful function for this, especially with the new 2.0 software. I’d like to have a banks for different genres, some with amp/cab only, alternate tunings, etc. it would also be great if you could swap out entire banks from the software instead of only individual presets
I definitely support that. This would make the nano so much more useful!! Just make the banks button assignable and group presets into banks with 4 presets so we can cycle through the banks.
100% agree. I just purchased the Nano Cortex last week and was baffled that Neural would think its more important to access Captures than Presets in the Bank list on the pedal.
Seeing as you can’t edit anything in any detail using the pedal standalone, why would i need access to all my captures but NOT be able to fine tune FX etc?
Hopefully this is an easy fix for the next update.
Yes I agree, there needs to be some more love given to the presets, next/previous navigation with the footswitches seems obvious.
It would be nice if I could easily switch between a bank with my “through an amp” presets and a bank with my “straight to FOH” presets
Me too. Very rarely do I get a preset dialled in and then think hey, you know what this needs now - A totally different amp. However, I am constantly cycling presets in and out of the slots with my phone, Which is pretty annoying. I’d rather have to use the phone to cycle captures when setting up presets (since I need it anyways for all the other effects) Then I’d like to just have the presets in the nano so I dont need the phone anymore
Just an idea: Why not make a short press on the bank button cycle through preset banks and long press cycle through capture banks. Use different LED colors to show the user what is going on. I guess it could give us the best of two worlds.
Please do this neural dsp. I literally never use this function as it is, every amp needs its own EQ to sound good. Using the same EQ to cycle through amp heads isn’t very useful , for me at least
This one please, I’d be happy forever if just this change was made
It makes total sense to change the BANKS function to access Presets instead of captures. I use a midi controller with my NC and can still only access 4 presets with it because:
- I can’t change BANKS via midi
- I cannot access any more presets than 4 via midi because I cannot change BANKS of presets.
I have absolute no need to access BANKS of captures……
What do you mean? With a midi controller you can access any preset. You just have to call its preset number. There’s no bank of presets. They are all in one bank, so to speak.
Another thing is that you can only have 4 presets assigned to the footswitches… and what would be great is to be able to use that button to change the presets assigned to footswitches. So they should first create “footswit presets banks” and then allow the button to cycle through them.
But you can access presets with a midi controller. I’m doing it very easily.
I know I can access 4 presets with a midi controller ( i am doing it as well) but i want to have the ability to recall more than 4 presets via Bank scrolling.
No, you can access ALL the presets with a midi controller if it can send the PC messages that you want. All the presets in the NC have a PC message assigned so you can recall them when you want.
I know that. I want to be able to recall more than 4 presets from the midi controller. The topic of this conversation is “Change bank button to cycle banks of presets” - that is what I request.
I am using a M-wave Chocolate Plus midi controller like most people here. I want to have the abilty to change banks and have 4 different presets available within each bank. I can then cycle banks up or down by pressing 2 of the controller buttons simultanously.
This should have been a MUST feature. This would make the nc a standalone for most gigs. But with only 4 presets? It’s only good enough for one song. You would typically need 4 sounds per song if you were playing in a cover band. Just making it able to cycle through 4 presets per bank (just like any other multi fx) would make so much sense and would allow me to join a gig with only the NC. Please please please add this feature.
With the Chocolate you can use banks of messages (in the chocolate itself, not in the NC). You can change bank+ and bank- and those 4-preset MIDI banks can send different midi messages. So you could access any preset in the NC in that way. Foe example, in the Chocolate 1a bank, you can access 4 presets. Switching to Chocolate 1b bank, you can access another 4 presets, etc.
In my opinion, what this request is about is for having the posibility to cycle 4 presets with the capture button, so you can have 5 banks of 4 presets assignable to the NC switches without the need of a MIDI controller.
Once you include MIDI in the equation, you don´t need anything else to access any preset unless your MIDI controller is so basic that´s only able to send 4 messages, not allowing you to have MIDI banks. In that case, yeah, the button functionality would be useful. But the chocolate is very capable, so you don´t need the button to access any preset.
I might be wrong, but if I remember it right (I have the Chocolate, but it´s been a long time since I used it), it´s the way I´ve described.
The request is because I don’t want to have to add a midi controller for something that should easily be part of the device. The whole point of this is it’s a small all in one device.
Yeah, that’s what I thought.
You are absolutly right! With the M-wave Chocolate Plus midi controller you can make banks of 4 x presets without the NC having preset bank capabilty. That is what I wanted. Thanks for all your help. I was not aware of this and maybe someone else can be helped as well.
Really glad I could help, mate! Enjoy!
