Can't access plugins

Ok chaps! I’m a complete luddite, hate computers and hate even more having to download new programs and create new user names and passwords. All this I have done after updating to 3.0.0. Wanted to take advantage of the free plugin, Pliny, and now what??? When I updated, i followed the message saying I had a gift in my Neural account, clicked it, downloaded Pliny, was told I needed an ILok account. Did that. Was told I needed to connect my Ilok account to my Neural account. Did that. Now what? Followed the video advice (which didn’t mention anything about ILok at all!) Tried to access my Neural account via Quad Cortex (not sure I’ve ever tried this before) and i get this: Device linked to (myemailaddress)
You are ready to send and receive Presets and Neural Captures and use Cloud backups.

And then in a black box it says “UNLINK DEVICE”. And that’s the only clickable button on that window. So what do I do now. I looked a bit further into the FAQs about plugins on the neural site and it said i needed to download ILok manager. So did that. Now what? By now I’m tearing my hair out. Thought maybe I can access my plugins via Cortex Control. Tried to connect and got “Loading Preset…” on the opening page. I thought well maybe it’ll take some time after updating to 3.0.0. so waited…over 24 hours!!! NOTHING!!! All 3.0.0 seems to have done is wasted a load of my time and ruined my access to Core Control. I’m pissed off. I *&^£$%^ HATE COMPUTERS.

First, make sure you are using the current version of Cortex Control as noted in the announcement of CoreOS 3.0.0

The process is relatively easy and painless, once you have your iLok (plugin license manager used by multiple companies and NDSP) setup and you have activated the plugin, ensure your email used for iLok matches your email linked with NDSP. Once the plugin is activated, simply select your preset name in the top and a meu will open on the left and at the top you will see your plugin and applicable presets associated with the plugin. If you continue to have issues, please email support@neuraldsp.com as they can resolve iLok questions rather quickly and get you on your way!

Thank you very much, all sorted now. But it was the advice about Cortex Control that made the difference. I had to uninstall it and reinstall it from the Downloads page. As soon as I did this, cortex control opened easily and there was my new plugin, ready to use! However, at no point does the announcement say that cortex control 1.1.0. is required to run 3.0.0. It says that 3.0.0. is required to run Cortex control 1.1.0. but not that you necessarily need to upgrade Cortex Control. But thanks, everything’s now running nicely and I can now remove my forehead from the dent in my office wall.

Glad you got it sorted! As an FYI, always check to see if there is a new version of Cortex Control with any new CoreOS release.
