I use my QC as a desktop only so I modified my button by adding a 10mm bore shaft collar and then silicone wedding rings slightly under sized so they stretch on. Both in various flavors on Amazon. I punched, using a hand punch you can get at the big box stores, holes for the set screws and replace the silver M4 3mm screws that came with the collars with black M4 6mm, you can get at Ace Hardware but they may not have 22 so Amazon has a kit with plenty of them. The extended length sticks them out and keep the rings scured from sliding off. If you really want to make sure you can go 180 degress around from the screws and put a drop of Shoo Goo under the ring. They are silicone so it won’t be a permanent bond but it does secure them even more. I haven’t done to all mine and haven’t seen any problems.
I have not used as a floor unit as I have a Nektar Pacer for a floor controler but don’t see why they would not work. I used collars that have a beveled top too. Tried the 25mm button toppers but they feel flimsy due to the nature of the QC button/ecoders. These feel like real panel control knobs now.
