Bought a NC, but Can't Help buy Feel Disappointed Even with 2.0 - Change My Mind

I own a QC and decided to pick up an NC, hoping for a similar experience in a more compact package.

I can’t help but feel disappointed, and I may return it if I don’t find a good reason to keep it.

I wanted to use my captured drives in the drive slots, but that was a no-go.
I wanted to use expression control similar to the QC with instant-on, based on position. Also, a no-go. To me, that renders the wah useless. Maybe useful for increasing drive, or delay/reverb parameters, but limited to the few NC effects.
Using the QC as a drive feels like a huge misuse of good tech. The Tonex One is a better alternative at a cheaper price.

I feel my Tonex pedals can accomplish pretty much the same as the NC at a much more affordable price.

Sell your Nano and get something that fits your needs better.

I had the QC; feel like the Nano suits my needs better (just needed something to capture my amps). The ToneX is great I’m sure, but it can’t make its own captures and seems more trouble to use than I’d want to deal with.

Capturing is easy with the QC. I haven’t tried the NC.
You can capture with the Tonex pedal.

You can capture with the ToneX pedal if you also have an interface and a computer with the right specs. The Nano (and QC) just need a DI box.

I had better luck capturing with the Nano than the QC. There was less noise in my experience.

Interesting! Tell me more about this “noise” you have been experiencing… have you done A/B comparisons between them? What type of captures?

The QC had a loud whistle type noise at 3000 Hz (and a lesser noise at every other interval of 1500 Hz) unless I ran a buffered pedal before the QC input. The Nano doesn’t do that.

And besides that, the QC captures I made seemed to have a higher noise floor than the captures I made with the Nano. (In other words, I thought I heard more background hum from the QC captures).

I have a video of the first problem (the QC’s 3000 hz whistle). I switch the buffer on and off, and the whistle goes out and in.

. But I didn’t bother to make comparisons otherwise. I’d decided to move on from the QC for just the whistle alone.

That’s wild! I left on a business trip today, but I guess I can do back to back captures using the QC and NC and see if there is a difference for me and my setup. If there is (favorable to the NC), that may be reason enough to keep it…

Thanks for the heads up!
