Blackstar Amped1 + QC weird DI Sound

Hi All! So in addition to this topic. I’ve got a new amped 1 from Thomann.
In the rehearsal space I’m using the QC with the Amped1 and a 2x12 Marshall cabinet.
There are two thing no bothering me and I can’t quite get my head around is.

  1. I’m missing “punch” when playing heavy (kraken amp) riffs.
  2. I hear an almost clean DI tone through the sound when playing with overdive/distortion. I cut back on the input of my guitar, but the sound is still there. Any tips or suggestion??

I’m not familiar with the amped but perhaps its has some kind of “direct monitoring”? It happened on my Scarlett interface where I kept hearing a clean guitar signal even on high-gain tones… until I realized I had to turn off direct monitoring.

Let’s see your preset- need more details on routing, blocks, etc

There has to be some kind of direct path in your QC preset, else there’s no way the Amped 1 would get DI guitar signal so far down the signal path.

Please share your preset and your signal path / connection.
Do you use the Linear response and flat voice on the Amped?

Hi All,
Thanks for reaching out.
So this is the chain and yes I use the linear/ flat setting on the amped 1

Looks like you have dry/non-amp signal currently going on in row 1, depending on how your split/mix at the end of that row is setup. Which then goes on to row 3 and on to Out 3.
Chances are, this is where you issue is.
One way to check this is to add a gain block right after the cab in row 1 and set it to -inf gain (effectively killing that side of the split and leaving only row 2 active). If there’s no more DI signal in the Amped 1 once you’ve done that, this is where your issue is.

Absolutely has to be this
