Assign different tempo to switches inside a preset?

Hi,
thanks to the forum i managed to do a Preset that suit my need with the Midi loopback Hack.

Now i have my Ernieball VP JR in to EXP-1, that allows me to go from Scene E (Rhytm ), to Scene F (Lead ) 120bpm.

What i’d like to do is now be able to select different tempo of delay for different songs inside the same preset. So if i change song i dont have to switch preset and then avoid the sound gap.

The QC is so powerfull that maybe it is possible… But with 8 scenes, if i set a 90 bpm delay tempo to scene A for exemple , if i go lead to scene F it then reset the tempo to 120bpm.

I should maybe use hybryd mode so switches A/B/C/D will be tempo switcher… is that an option?

Thanks a lot

you can assign the tempo per Scene.
Be aware though, if you’re using a delay that is an analog model, the trails will ‘warp’ when the tempo changes. The digital-style delays won’t do this. “Transparent Tap Tempo” is a feature request that addresses this situation.
Here’s the instructions for assigning Tempo per Scene from the manual, hope it helps:

I don’t believe you can assign the tempo to an individual switch like a Stomp, it has to change via Preset or Scene load. If you need to be able to change the tempo but NOTHING ELSE- you’d have to assign it to Scenes that are basically blank and don’t change any other parameters than the tempo setting

Thanks again @xush, i dont believe to.
I managed to assign a midi switch with CC/44/0-127 to switch A, it is just an other way to tap tempo.

Since i will like to switch between just 2 scenes with the exp pedal, i guess i will have to do preset changes.

Maybe Neural will fix that gap problem in a futur update…

Did this feature disappear with the recent Update??? Mine is only showing Preset and Global so scene tempo change seems to be baked in but I’d rather that not be the case. Any help is appreciated

Wow, it does seem to be missing-I hadn’t noticed it yet. That’s not great. I’ll research some more to see if there’s any other options

Ok- so it can still be assigned to Scenes, but they’ve mysteriously hidden the function and the manual does not explain how to do it.

On the QC, set the Mode to Preset in the Tempo/Metronome menu.

Then long-press on the Tempo parameter, linked to footswitch A. When the ABCD icon appears, you can now set the tempo per scene w/ switch/knob A and advancing thru the Scenes with the arrows and highlighted Scene letter at the upper right corner next to the check mark icon.

With Cortex Control, it’s a little more obvious after you put the Tempo control into Scene-assigned mode

Hope this helps

I’m having some serious trouble trying to get this to work….I’ve followed your directions but when I long press on A the four blocks for scene mode doesn’t appear…how long to I have to “long press” ? Thanks!

Long-press on the Tempo setting, not the A

I am sure I am being an idiot, but I am trying it right now, and holding down the tempo button is not making the scene icon appear under tempo.
If I switched to other presets and go into the settings, I can see that I have that turned on already but for some reason, it won’t let me do it in a new scene. I am trying to create for a gig tomorrow.

Any other suggestions or something I could be doing wrong? I sincerely appreciate all the help.

Don’t press on the button/control itself, but in the space next to it.

Can you use Cortex Control via USB? Sometimes it’s easier on a computer

Also, did you do this part:

On the QC, set the Mode to Preset in the Tempo/Metronome menu.

That made all the difference. Didn’t know I had to press on the screen next to the parameter. Thanks so much! I have no idea why they decided to hide that option!
