I use QC to stream my guitar playing with OBS. I send computer audio to QC via the USB cable but currently now I have to use an external mixer to route audio form 1/2 (XLRs) to get the audio back to computer mixed with the backing track and I don’t get why that’s the only option.
Is there something physically in the device preventing us from deciding where we want to route the audio in to? I understand that people doing recording don’t want that to happen, but why not let us control it ourselves?
My setup would be a hell of a lot simpler without having to do an unnecessary digital → analog → digital conversion to degrade audio quality just to get the synced audio back to my computer.
You can do exactly what you are suggesting. Here is a video that explains how to mix multiple inputs to the same output. In your case you would be sending everything to the same USB outputs.
yes, I know that this is possible but it’s unnecessarily complex when they can just enable this with software.
Would be weird if there is some physical limitation that prevents them from just routing the audio back to USB with the USB in audio in baked in it just like with main outputs or even outputs 3/4.
Yeah I realise my setup is probably a bit niche but here’s to hoping it gets supported so I can remove all unnecessarily DACs from the signal path without having to manually do the routing for each scene.
