Additional Connections From Quad to Pedalboard

Hi,

Just asking for guidance.

I see that some people have added additional connectors to the pedal board from the Quad and I would like to do the same.

But I don’t know where to start.

So instead of constantly plugging in the power cable, input, output etc into the Quad, I plug into the side or back of the pedalboard.

Any guidance would help.

Thanks Steve

The Temple Audio paddleboards are pretty good for this, they have modules on the side of the PB that allows for “passthrough” connections, (so your gear does not get unplugged and plugged in repeatedly) I’ve been using them for some time now, only thing is these parts can get pricy as they add up in cost quickly…

Hi.
Thanks for that and I will have a look at temple.

Temple Audio has the most complete collection of modules for their pedalboards (called Templeboards). I have a Duo 34 board and use the 4-way Jack Patch, the XLR, and the IEC mods. Modules start at $49 and go up from there.

I leave cable connections permanently routed to my QC while I plug and unplug cables to the mods on the side of my Templeboard. Less risk of damage to the QC.

That said, Temple Audio are not the only company with flexible pedalboard solutions.

Hi.

I have had a look at Temple and in the UK they seem more expensive.

However, I really appreciate the advice and I now have a much better idea as to what I can do and how to do it.

So thanks all for the excellent advice.

Steve.

Since I already owned a Pedaltrain board, I used what I had. Went with a RockBoard MOD 3 V2 and one of their mounting brackets. I also got some rubber feet to add some clearance.

Agreed. Rockboard offers similar options for I/O modules. On my Temple Duo 24: the AC module plus another with four 1/4” jacks: 2 in for gtr, 2 out for outputs 3&4 on the QC going to my local monitors. Will probably add another XLR module for outputs 1&2 to FOH, assuming that repeated connect-disconnect of those directly on the QC is a potential for wear(?). Yeah, they’re pricey, but avoids yanking around the jacks on the QC itself every setup & teardown.
