Acrylic protector

Hey friends, I’m sharing an image of the protector I made for my Quad Cortex. What do you think? I purchased the design as a template on Hotmart, received it in AI (Adobe Illustrator) format, and cut it out of 3mm acrylic. I only needed to buy acrylic hinges to assemble it, and it looks amazing! I’ll leave the link here in case you’d like to buy the template.

Chad Boston at gearbyceba.com sells these, too (and skins) in case anyone would rather just buy it and not build it. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve already thought about it too, but I’m not so sure whether that’s a good idea because the surface and especially the display give off so much heat. And if I cover these surfaces, the heat can no longer be released freely into the environment.

Isn’t that what the vents are for? Legit question.

Yes, of course that’s true. But since hardly anything comes out of the slots and mainly the surface gets warm, I thought I’d better not cover it. Especially not the display itself, which apparently gives off the most heat.

I have an acrylic shield installed since the first week I got the QC two years ago. Never had any problems and I played quite a few shows with it, some of them even in the hot summer sun. :raised_hands:

It’s good to know that the device “doesn’t mind” and the heat is still dissipated well. My QC was just in Helsinki for a month because of the volume knob issue. I’d rather not risk anything  But… it’s good to know

Does anyone have the cutting template available for download?
