Wonder if this is blackout related? I just tried mine and still working as normal on both IPhone 14 Pro and IPad 12.9” Pro 4th generation etc. I am on the east coast US.
I teach embedded systems in a university here in Brazil. If a student comes to me with this kind of solution for anything (you can control parameters with bluetooth but needs internet to really do it), will not pass the class until fix the restriction…
Exactly. Blackout, Spanish football tv blocking internet or whatever… it DOESN’T MATTER. A 500€ device must work independently of all that odds. Is it so difficult to understand?
Or, NDSP should inform very clearly that, if you´re in Spain, you wont be able to tweak the pedal whenever there´s football on the tv. Which is all weekends, and some other days of the week too. Oh, you can use an VPN, of course… which in itself proves how ridiculous is this situation.
What are they waiting to fix this “internet needed” nonsense??
Quick note that the blackout issues (for those impacted) are with the Internet providers for that region and nothing to do with NDSP.
And? Is that admissible in your opinion? That just adds more weight to the nonsense of needing internet to work properly with the unit.
Otherwise, they should not sell it in Spain.
I don’t think it’s just Spain. I had problems with a stable internet connection on multiple occasions (gigs in locations in cellars, which is not uncommon here) and I think it’s possible to make the important part of the app offline ready. It’s a good feature request, that hopefully will come to fruition.
I just don’t get the this anger and absolute negativity. Sure it has some shortcomings, but it has a lot of things going for it and the Nano evolved great. There is some ground to cover, but they made some big improvements to it.
I don’t know what selling in Spain has anything to do with this limitation and agree 100% that we need access to all features without requiring Internet access (and voted). I was just noting that providers in that region made a decision to blackout due to piracy which is out of NDSP’s control.
What has it to do? Well, If you have made the decission of making the unit ONLY editable through an app that NEEDS internet, and that causes the unit not working properly most of the important use time, that has to do with NDSP. If NDSP wants the unit to work properly in this conditions, they have to avoid keeping that path (just as any other manufacturer… by the way). If they don´t fix that, it means they don´t care the unit doesn´t work properly here. Hence… they would not sell it.
Furthermore: one can´t really know if the unit will work or not before buying. It´s not something you can choose. Maybe you don´t even notice in a couple weeks, so your return time expires.
I find incredible that you think NDSP has nothing to do, since they must provide a unit that works without these problems. That´s what you pay for.
“I find incredible that you think NDSP has nothing to do, since they must provide a unit that works without these problems. That´s what you pay for.”
Read what I stated again as I have agreed with the need for this feature request.
Reminder to keep posts on topic of the featured request. If you or anyone else wants to start a discussion on the topic, please open a new thread. Thanks!
The app has completely stopped launching. Until recently, it was difficult to launch, or it would launch with a VPN. Now, neither clearing the cache nor reinstalling the app helps.
While this latest update doesn’t address this specific request, Cortex Cloud for iPhone (and possibly Android?) has been updated to version 2.7.1
This release was a hot fix for the following issues:
-An issue that prevented some users from uploading or editing their Neural Captures.
-An issue where, under certain circumstances, the application would show an intermittent false “No internet connection” status
More than one year of NC, 3 app updates, and we must have a good connection on internet to change some parameters that can’t be done with the buttons on the NC…![]()
I suspect NDSP is not interested in getting offline functionality of the app. In units like the QC it’s not so big deal since you can edit in the unit itself. But in the NC… it’s just a mortal defect.
And in my opinion they’re not going to fix that. For some obscure reason, they want you connected. Hope I’m wrong… but it all leads to that conclusion.
Moderator, could you please ask the team if they intend to make the NC editable offline? I have asked before but didn’t get a direct response.
If they don’t intend to fix this, we can sell our NC for anyone that plays at home and will be happy with NC.
We are very much at the point in which you’d expect a disclaimer of such a requirement.
Yes, I will inform them of the thread and see if I can get any additional details.
I don’t have a nano cortex but you should be able to use the nano without Internet connection for all features… it’s 2025 got my vote
Does the NC manual say internet is required anywhere?
Edit; scanned it myself, only when mentioning firmware updates is the word “internet” present in the manual.
Has the makings of a class action dispute via deceptive marketing.
No updates to give at this moment unfortunately.
