A thread for those who successfully updated to CorOS 3.0

Well, mine sjust shutdown by itself. Now it does not boot. All the lights are blinking and the screen is off.

Mine finally finished updating, after a whole lot of authentication errors.

Don’t bother restarting, just keep tapping to close the error messages and attempting to connect to WiFi. Eventually it will get through.

Disabling “Internet Check” doesn’t seem to help. Just keep closing those boxes and trying to connect.

NOTE: I’m not talking about dealing with a failure to restart during the update process. That’s a different ballgame.

I’d disconnect it, let it cool down then start it in recovery mode:

Recovery Mode:
Press and hold the A and H footswitches the first 6 seconds of the splash screen while booting to initiate the Recovery Mode.

Plugins show up when adding a new device…“Plugin” should be at the top of the device list.

so i bought 2 other X plugins, (soldano x and fortin namless X). At what point do these unlock? I saw in the development update that they “will not be synchronized” with COROS releases, so does that mean at some point my X plugins will appear and unlock without another COROS update?

I was under the presumption that if you owned an X plugin that it would be working now

All good here. Everything working fine. I just need to decide between Nolly and Gojira to try the plug-in feature.

No, only Nolly and Gojira for now.

This has been communicated over and over and over–

  • CorOS 3.0.0 includes compatibility for Plini X and Gojira X only.

  • Future CorOS updates will include more compatibility for other X plug-ins.

  • All of NDSP’s plug-ins will eventually get upgraded to an X version, and CorOS will continue to update so that all X plug-ins are available on QC [for those who have the plug-in license].

  • No dates provided yet on future CorOS updates.

I, too, am looking forward to the Soldano X compatibility. It’s on the way.

Was able to update successfully! Did a while though. Had a small issue with the plugin part of the update. There were three section to it and for some reason the third part to it took me three attempts to update. The issue seemed like it was a connectivity problem, lets face it the wifi chipset in the quad cortex sucks. I did have my laptop connected to the device so it would use the internet connection from it and it finally updated properly.

well that is the part that confuses me because the dev update explicitly says that x updates will not coincide with coros updates

makes it sound like they can enable them once ready without needing a coros update. so would this mean not without anything or not without a major family update, but still a minor patch., or what.

Most people seem to have had no issues, for me it bricked my QC, update failed and now won’t boot up or factory reset.
Will need to send it off to Neural DSP to get it sorted, hopefully should be back in a couple of weeks, but be careful anyone who might have upcoming gigs if they don’t have a backup solution, just in case.

They’ve been open about this. X updates are happening to the plug-ins separately from CorOS updates, true. But CorOS will need to be updated to incorporate them:

No dates provided yet, but now that the monster 3.0.0 update is out I would expect to see more frequent updates to include more X plug-ins.

I updated a little while ago and it does take a bit of time but this is a huge update. The unit will reboot a number of times as it installs the new firmware and plugin compatibility. It takes three or four (I can’t remember) reboots to install the new firmware. Once that is accomplished I had to redownload and reinstall Cortex Control to use it on my Mac. I don’t know if that got updated too but the old one was locking up on the ‘load preset’ part of the boot up. I didn’t have any plugins so I used the free one that you have a choice of getting (I got the Pilini) once 3.0 is installed. Had no problems whatsoever with installing the firmware or the plugin and I can tell you that it’s amazing and when the Tone King is available I will be purchasing it as well.

thanks, this is quite clear

Where is the “Device” list?

When I go to Settings in the QC, I see “Devine Options” but I do not see a “Device” list

Device List opens from the Directory, not the settings menu. Tap on an open space in the grid and it’ll open. Or tap on the preset name and directory list opens

speaking of which, I’ve got to go download the new manuals!

OK yes - now I see it

Thank you for the help

Just updated based on so many successful updates listed here. The update went smoothly and was relatively quick. I’m tweaking the Plini plugin right now…everything seems to be working fine. Thanks NDSP!

No such luck as most of you here. all seem to go smoothly but won’t boot. Anyone else have this or can point me in the right direction?
