Which free plugin to get. Advice please

Hi,
some advice on which plugin (archetype) to get as my free gift, please.
My idea of perfect tone is 70’s Schenker, AC/DC, VH1… For later sounds, anything by Billy Gibbons.
Listened to all the plugin videos and find myself drawn towards, Rabea and Mateus Asoto archetypes.
Prior to the Quad (my first digital device) I have owned, played, gigged, recorded etc, AC30’s, Plexi’s, Jubilee’s, and once ran a Boogie V twin through the front of a The Twin (Fenders’ 80’s take on the twin reverb).
Anyhoo, please help me out. This is all new to me.

Thanks,
John

Don’t just watch videos; take advantage of the free 14-day trials! They’ll even extend your trial if you ask (or activate it again if, like me, you tried Gojira when it came out but forgot what you thought about it and wanted to try it now, since it’s got PCOM).

Both those you mentioned are incredibly versatile and great sounding. I have Plini, Rabea, Petrucci, Asato, Parallax, and Darkglass.

For the guitar ones, you can get just about any sound you’re looking for from any of them. No matter what, I ALWAYS end up sounding like “me” regardless of what plugin or modeler I use. So I mainly pick which plugin to use based on the aesthetics I’m feeling that day.

When you try them out, pay the most attention to the extra goodies; the drives, delays, reverbs, etc., and the synth in Rabea. Also, run through all the presets - some are kinda wonky and experimental, but some are genuinely usable/musical, and you can always adjust to taste. They all come with a wonderful EQ section, too. Now they’re all coming with the Transpose and doubler, too, so I can’t recommend based on that anymore.

So, yeah; just try them  You don’t have to decide immediately. Download free triels of the ones you’re most attracted to, audition them, and decide from there. Hell; I’m sure if you make a bad decision, they’ll probably take care of you and trade/refund/exchange (don’t quote me on this, but based on their customer service, I have no doubt they’ll want you to be a happy customer - that’s why I keep coming back for more. it’s not like I NEED another plugin lol!).

Thanks for the suggestion. I may try out Rabea, which I’m tending towards. I agree with your point about plying with each amp to get the sound. It was what I did back in the day.
Thanks,
John
