I’ve had the unit a short while now. We all know the tones are on point. But everything else around that on the unit just becomes more painful the more I use it.
On top of my previous list of problems as a recording and gigging musician - like not even a mix knob on the wahs or BPM on delays, now I’ve run into Neural’s insistence that the pedal only changes preset when I lift my foot off - not when I click it down. This means less precise changes, and I want to be precise when I’m gigging/playing. I say insistence because there’s no option to change its behavior.
When I read the manual it tells me it’s so they can give me access to the tuner. I hate to break it to you Neural, but nobody is using that tuner unless it’s an absolute emergency. It’s clever how you implemented it with the lights and all, but it’s kinda horrible to use and we’ve all got way better tuners.
I just want the option for presets to change when I put my foot down, not when I lift it off. I’ll happily and gladly give up access to the tuner to turn that on.
Sure, I could buy a midi foot controller, but I need an EXP pedal, I play in a funk metal band and need wahs. And even if I wasn’t using it for the pedal, I shouldn’t have to, this should have been an option.
From my perspective, this unit is half done, but I had to pay full price. Tones are great, but there’s more to a pedal like this than the tones. The user experience is seriously sub par and it’s not even hard stuff to do.
