Nano Cortex built in footswitches

I apologise if this has been mentioned before and for the somewhat long post.

Are there any plans in the works to make the Nano Cortex even more awesome by adding more functionality to selecting presets via the 2 footswitches?

I am fairly new to the Nano bought it just after 2.0 came out as I was rather impressed. (I have 2 Quad Cortex’s had 1 a year and bought another a couple of days ago).

Soon after diving in to the nano and hooking up my iPad to it and I’ve got to say I was rather impressed with it, tonally and workflow for the most part, once I’d gotten my head round the app and how it works I was rather happy playing around. I pulled across some of my captures from my quad cortex and came up with a number of presets that almost mimic my Quad Cortex somewhere where I would be very happy to use it on any stage. The reason for my Nano purchase was three fold 1, as a backup on the road to my Quad. 2, as a compact rig for taking anywhere where i needed just my guitar and minimal items. 3. as a device to sit and play in the dressing room to warm up a little and plug in some headphones and either keep myself occupied or just to go over anything I feel I may need to.

Now the most thing I’ve struggled with on the Nano is the extremely limited footswitch assignment. Are there any plans to expand the Nano so you can select a bank and use 4 presets per bank? to change bank would involve pressing the bank selection button on the Nano. If Neural sold a dedicated add on footswitch I could understand them making it this way as it would encourage more sales for the accessories?

Please Neural bring the ability to select more than just 4 presets to the 2 footswitches. It would be great to assign your presets for songs or sets into your banks. If this is not possible I would love to know the reasons behind it. I’m no expert with manufacturing devices like this but as a professional musician that plays a lot this is something I would be very keen to see especially when needing something quick to rig up if there is an issue mid gig.

This is no way intended as a moan to Neural. As after dealing with their support team the other day for a USB issue I have experienced on my quad cortex and silly moment by myself and the support team working their magic for me and literally getting me out of a very tight spot.

No plans other than what is posted in NDSPs news page, otherwise I would suggest adding feature requests (search first)

The lack of footswitch presets on the Nano is the main reason why I’m not even considering getting one. If they change that it makes it much more useable, but anything that relies on an app or midi just to select presets is a non-starter for me (similar to the Boss Katanas, the Mk 1 and Mk 2 especially required you to be connected to a laptop to select more than 4 - or 8, depending which model - presets)

In comparison I recently used my new Mooer Prime M2 at a gig, with the wireless Mooer F4 footswitch - it sounded absolutely great through the PA, and when combined with the F4, you have full access to every Bank and Preset, and also the looper (and rhythm if you wanted)

Interestingly you can also save loops in to the memory on the Mooer, something which the Headrush units have been able to do and which there have been a lot of requests for Neural to introduce on the QC (which apparently has a 32gb Mini or Micro SD card built in)
