I am looking for a way to see in gig view that the wah pedal is engaged or disengaged. Currently it only shows the preset title in italics and asterisk indicating that the preset has “changed”.
For reference I use scene mode.
That’s really hard to notice on stage. Is there another way to be notified?
I was about to post a similar question and noticed it was already posted
I have done a few gigs now with my QC. I really like the hybrid/gig view but I cannot see whether my wah pedal is on or off, especially on a loud song with 5 other musicians on stage. A few times I accidentally left it on after a solo and didn’t notice until the next verse.
I could assign the wah on/off to a stomp switch, but I only have 4 stomp switches in hybrid view and I don’t want to waste a spot. It also feels redundant since I am already using the toe switch on my expression pedal to turn the wah on & off.
My ideas so far:
Use one of my 4 stomp switches to display wah status - not preferred because I lose a stomp switch
Find some sort of battery-powered expression pedal with an LED status light for the toe switch
Stop using the toe switch and instead use heel/toe position for on/off - might work but could lose some control and ability to alternate use as a volume pedal (not critical for me).
Stop using the toe switch and instead use delay after motion stop - in this case, I lose the ability to hold the wah ON at a fixed position (e.g., solo in Whole Lotta Love); also prevents dual use as volume pedal (not critical for me).
I went back and forth with using the QC Wah but ran into the same similar issues and not wanting to use a scene to turn it off or on etc. I now use a Hotone Soul Press 2 as a Wah-Volume. When Vol mode it has 4 lights to give you an idea of the position, when in Wah the lights are out.
