Synth effect

Same thing for me, I bought the QC in 2021 knowing that it was ‘work in progress’ and it was supposed to ‘aggressively update’ (and the Synth block was also one of the selling point for me - funnily enough you can still see this block in the small video at Quad Cortex - Neural DSP )

3.1 was very light for non-plugins owners, 3.2 was even worse , and we are talking about more than 1 year of waiting….

And now, NDSP is dead silent… (Meanwhile, the Stadium is here, and 2 updates are planned until january… I don’t plan to swith to Helix right now, but I might be tempted if the updates are worth it… I’m tired having to pay for plugins in order to have new block on my QC)

I had both (Sy1 and SY200) connected to the QC. It really depends on what you want to achieve with them. For a few background pads or some solo jamming, both are quite useful. But if you want to get a little deeper into it, you’ll need a system with a GK Pick or Fishman TriplePlay. After a somewhat longer excursion with a TriplePlay, I ended up with a Boss GM-800. For TriplePlay, you need a computer on stage, which always scared me a little. With my playing style, the GM800 also provided the best tracking.

“Connect to WiFi, search for updates, and in less than 10 minutes you have the latest and greatest. Plus, you can continue to use the device while the update happens in the background.”

Ahahahaha in what world would their updates be 10 minutes, and being able to use the device while it’s updating in the background ? I don’t get why Neural would say that, but I guess it was maybe earlier on

Finally released with CorOS 3.3.0. Can’t wait to try it!

Thanks god, i’t’s what i was waiting the most !!!

If i can ditch my SY-300 it’s perfect !!!

I was very happy for you to see this update. You’ve been wanting this for so long and today is the day!

If you add several instances of it you can make a complex tone!
D

The Synth is killer ! The same as in Archetype Rabea X, and free for all users !
(and the other improvements in 3.3 are awesome as well !)

:+1:

Oh my God we’re finally here!

Lets see how the tracking is on bass. It’s always the Achilles heel of audio tracking devices.

Some synth pedals / effects benefit from having a compressed signal going into the input in order to improve tracking. Maybe try a bass with and without a compressor before the synth block.

Yes, also an EQ before can be nice, i did this with my SY-300 and it was better:

I was fully prepared to buy Rabea X once it was PCOM compatible. So this update was a very pleasant surprise!

It’s a very comprehensive block. Holy moo cow. Thank goodness they dropped this for a deepdive tutorial by Bea himself!

Thing is, now that we know that this is possible….. Glitch, please!

I guess i’ll keep it a bit longer cause need polyphonique one for chords, layer, pad like sounds.

I thought the overlord was poly, can both users (rabea and QC) can confirm it’s the same than the overlord one ?

The synth on the QC and Plugin are great but not comparable with the SY. With the SY you can simulate strings, organs, bells, … not just mono synth. Moreover the tracking on the SY feels more natural. I’m still getting some unwanted notes/noises with the synth on the QC.

All NDSP versions of the Rabea synth are mono, including the Plugin original.

You can build chords by shifting pitches tho, that’s what I’m concentrating on now

SInce this has been added, this request will be closed soon. Please remove your votes as it may be difficult to remove once this thread is closed. Thanks!

Yes i will keep it a bit more, and the tracking is great on the SY300. Too bad there was so fe updates for it, it could be way better !

Yes, I hope the Mono Synth is the first of other synth to come including a poly one.

The synth came back in force since few years and those 80’s sounds fits nicely with NDSP imo. Edit: just looked at the cortex cloud and the number of download for the synth preset confort me in this idea.
