Ring Modulator and Bitcrusher

any alternative way to achieve a ring mod effect?

I haven’t found a way on the QC. I used to fake it when I had an Eventide H3000, but I don’t even remember how I did it. I think I was using the reverse pitch shifter with a crazy short delay or something.

We are coming up on 3 years for this request.

Agreed, a ring mod is sorely needed. Just changed over to QC from Line6 Helix and was devastated to learn there is no ring modulator block in QC. :open_mouth:

Voted. Weight of my vote is for the bitcrusher, but ring mod is definitely right up there.

Thanks for voting!

A ring mod is needed bad. Sick of having to use plugins to compensate for the QCs lack of effects.

I finally just had to add a Ring Modulator onto my DJ board, since I like to use it live and it’s been 3+ years. I’m not giving up hope because I still hope they add one to the QC.

I think this is pretty much our only recourse for major QC weaknesses right now, since we aren’t given timelines or acknowledgment of what they will/can improve.
If there are workarounds for issues that we’ve been waiting a long time to be addressed, the smart thing to do is embrace them.

My biggest problem now is I don’t really care if the oversights get fixed because I’m used to the workarounds.

I know what you mean, Probably half of the requests I asked for I don’t even need anymore because I simply found a workaround.

The harmonic tremolo block that we got with CorOS 3.1.0 is incredible, way more controls in it than I expected. Nobody’s talking about it now (because of PCOM rollout), but I think it will become a ā€œsleeper hitā€ among the QC’s effects.

If a ring modulator and/or bit crusher would ever get released I would hope they have the same number of controls and attention to detail–LFO speed and type, high-pass/bandpass/low-pass filtering + resonance, etc. It would be mega awesome for a ring modulator block to include a sidechain input for the carrier frequency.

In the meantime, my Boss MD-500 is still serving me well.

Nice! My hope is that the Ring Modulator would be based on the Moogerfooger unit Moog made awhile back. Not only is it the best ring mod I’ve used, but also a TRULY incredible tremolo pedal as well. Second only to my Spaceman Voyager 1 tremolo.

The Moogerfooger ring mod just sounds incredible, but it is giant, so I have the minifooger version on my pedalboard. It sounds great too, but far less versatile.

I still have my Moogerfooger Ring Mod, FreqBox, and ClusterFlux. They’re no longer on my pedalboard, but I will never sell them. High five.

I have a white MURF as well, it just isn’t on this setup.

The RingMod and Clusterflux are my favs for sure.

Really dissapointed not to see ring mod / bit crusher in the list…
