Quad Cortex. Should I buy it?

Many thanks for the welcome @PickinPete !
Yeah, really enjoying the intuitive and fast UI. Yesterday first rehearsal with QC!! not my main band but a Pink Floyd tribute. It blew me away the ease of creating presets. As I said I’m a “one preset for all” guy and in a few minutes I could get one with In 1 for my strat and all the effects I need and In 2 for the acoustic. So easy!

Sound was impressive, I sent “out 1” to PA and “send 1” without cab to amp return for monitoring and reference. Really happy with it! I’m trying to post a pic, sorry for the pedalboard mess, I just took off AX8 and placed QC and an expression pedal in the same space. And for the tape! That’s temporary

Nice, compact rig! I’ve had the same experience. The QC doesn’t have near the tweekology of the AX8 but the UI and basic tones make preset creation so much easier, faster and more intuitive. You’re not alone with your assessment of the Leslie model. I finally switched to using the first voice of the Boss CE-1. It doesn’t sound exactly like a Leslie but it sounds glorious, especially in stereo, and, at least has a rotary flavor (with the right settings). Hopefully NDSP will “re-model” their Leslie model one day. I believe there is a feature request for this if you’d like to add your vote.

I just read your post on the Rotary Feature Request and immediately ‘stole’ the settings  it works really well!! Thank you so much, request voted.

Gota’ love a success story!

After a couple of days I must say that it’s beyond mu expectations. Feels like an amp and it’s unbelievable how easy it is to shape the tone and get to great sounds in seconds… and it can only get better with updates. Super happy and I’m only scratching the surface!

Great to here, Ale! You really can sculpt the frequency balance and dynamics effectively. The EQ and compression work so well and sound quite “analog”. Each of the compressors really do have their own personality. I enjoy fattening up clean tones with some post-cab compression while using the mix and attack controls to keep the snap. Tons of fun!

On distorted tones is enough cutting highs and low frequencies to get to the sound. It’s easy and fun and sounds great

Yes, I’ve found the high-pass and low-pass filters on the second page of the cab block to be perfect for cutting mud and fizz and helping the tone sit better in a mix.

Please don’t fall for the Tone Junkie trap. That guy has the worst captures in the industry. Do not throw your money away on his trash.

If you want solid tones go for Worship Tutorials. Their Matchless DC30, Marshall Super 100, Orange OR120, Fender Super Verb and Fender Deluxe Reverb captures are all fantastic and come fully configured with multiple turnkey scenes ranging from clean, ambient, driven, lead, etc that are simply the best. They put a lot of care into their products and most are under $20.

this has not been my experience. TJ fender captures are incredible.

I disagree. I’ve had those as well and it sounds like sand in a wool sock. Sorry you got scammed too.

i mean… It’s literally a matter of opinion. Try not to be so unhinged in this forum pls.

I was using the qc as just interface to tru the soldano plug in but I found that even with input gain at minumum there is still a layer of dry signal that it’s disturbing. How can i avoid it? Thanks

Sound check for First gig! I’ll let you know how is it my live experience

Ok I didn’t want to rag on the tone junkie but for me they sound bad. You can get free ones right on the quad or in the app from pros. He also said many months ago would u believe Rabaya that’s how he said it has more followers than him? Uh yea I believe it. He’s a pro and more experienced and better at it. It was Rabea that after the Stormzy giant concert that made me decide to give in and get the quad. I had been unhappy with the other modelers n passed 3x n costing me money. If MOD u need to delete this feel free. But I didn’t like TJ insulting Rabea. Bea is more popular and an all around jack of all trades better player.

Slo X sounds incredible. Can’t wait to have it on the Quad Cortex.
I think Neural should improve the cab section and make it like the plug in. Sound quality is better and room send on each microphone is great

Hey! Great experience last weekend!!
Couldn’t be happier with the sound and performance of the QC.

Newbie naive me I was trying to attach a couple of clips but didn’t allow me so I’m just sending a pic, I’m the one on the left side. Got a Rockboard Tres 3.1 to place the QC and a couple of expression pedals. It’s a compact and portable set, really happy with it.

Not sure if there’s a way to post the clips, anyway I hope to post more live pics soon!!

Great to hear! I don’t see an amp or FRFR. Were you monitoring through in-ears? I don’t think the NDSP forum is set up to upload vids or audio. I think you’d have to upload your vid to another site and post a link. If the audio is decent, I’d like to check it out.
