I use midi footswitch (M-Vave chocolate) which extends my ability to use only 4 original slots, however, when I create a new preset it always puts it at the end of the presets list which I would need to move to the begining of the list so my footswitch could select it.
Please, please add the ability to freely move the presets up and down in the preset list in the Neural app, I am sure this is a minor programming endeavor for your mighty team.
I’m not familiar with M-Vave Chocolate, but I’m pretty sure that programming a midi footswitch to send PC message with certain number was possible for the past 30 years or so. Same like you would assign preset to the NC footswitch, you should be able to assign PC message to the footswitch on your midi contorller. Is that not the case with M-Wave?
While yes one can program a midi foot switch to whatever PC or CC you like you cannot reorganize your presets on the device without lots of steps.
If we could move presets without manually doing a save as, delete, rename, that is what is asked for here. This is quite common within multi-fx units, even the low cost ones.
Exactly my point - I could program my midi footswitch to target the presets wherever they are in the list, but it would be much much easier to just have the ability to organize the preset order in the app itself and simply have that sequence by default on my FS.
While I have one bank on my midi controller set to scroll through presets, more often I just set different banks to call whatever presets and functions I need on different devices, irrelevant of their order in the devices itself. Morningstar midi controllers capable of sending multiple midi messages per switch action have spoiled me.
The m-chocolate can send multiple commands on one button. You can also program the buttons for different actions with short tap and long tap activated. Also the plus version also uses a pair of double taps (ie- buttons together for more actions). I have found the device to be very reliable. I use it with an optional wireless receiver/transmitter on the QC😀
I’ve heard about so many functionalities that chocolate offers and I’m sure I can program it, but the easiest way would be to simply drag and drop presets to my liking…
Totally agree. From a practical perspective we can choose to use cortex cloud app 100% or program midi to do the same where the PC and CC changes are available.
Organizing presets is logical for quality of life.
Since presets are the main way to use the NC, it makes sense to streamline creation, editing and sorting. This is the same as wanting to sort the list of captures in your library, not just use the search box.
