Output sum to mono and input adjustment per preset

I am admittedly new to QC and the sounds and interface are awesome. However, I feel that several “structural” issues in the way of I/O flexibility would make it even better, particularly for the gigging player, where you run into all kinds of uncontrollable situations and manner of connecting to existing local systems. Forum member “GabsBiz” created a post in December of 2024 (Global Sum to Mono options - Quad Cortex / Feature Requests - Neural DSP) that nicely lays out a very useful upgrade to the GLOBAL outputs 1/2 and 3/4 with stereo/mono switching for those outputs in the global settings screen. He even included a matrix of how a mixture of mono and stereo output signals could be supplied to FOH and stage monitoring, or other destinations, that could really improve the performance of the QC in such environments.

On the other side of the I/O system, the global input settings for inputs 1/2 are useful but could be made even better if these global settings could be setup as a default and then changeable and storable per preset. This would allow settings for different guitars/instruments/mics per preset.

Not being a digital programmer, I can only imagine that “structural” changes like these may be more difficult to implement than a new capture or reverb but I believe they would make the QC infinitely more flexible and thus desirable for most musicians.

Thank you

P.S. How do I cast a vote for a feature request such as the one from “GabsBiz”?

Hello and welcome,

We have a separate sum-to-mono request which has a lot more votes:

And here’s another request for input settings per preset (high vote count):

To vote, click on the up arrow at the top of the thread.

If you want a mono output, just use the left output for your stereo preset. This is how basically all pro audio gear has been for decades. Only effect where it would be tricky is ping pong delay. Otherwise I don’t understand why anyone wants the sum to mono option. So, 1 if you’re using 1/2 and 3 if you’re using 3/4.

@JAJ please utilize the search function prior to submitting new feature requests. Thanks!
