Option to put stomp/drive captures into pre fx slot

Well the topic explains it I think. If I capture one of my drive pedals, I would like to be able to put it inside the pre fx slot like the other drive pedals.

This is completely different than the topic you suggested. Thanks though.

Fair. Other requests have popped up in the forum with, “I want to put ___ effect block in the ____ slot.” There needs to be just one request that covers it all.

Agreed. We are trying to get things merged as needed and cleaned up but its taking longer than expected.

OK, I’m sorry but I have to clarify again..
This does not have anything to do with which slot..

I used the word fx slot but I was after a special drive capture without amp or cab.
Then that would be my captured drive like the included ones inside the NC.
If it is treated as the other drives included in NC, you could put it in pre or post fx or wherever the other drives are allowed.

But again the point was having a special drive capture category and use it as the other included drives. So when you say…

”Fair. Other requests have popped up in the forum with, “I want to put ___ effect block in the ____ slot.” There needs to be just one request that covers it all.”

I suspect it still is misleading. So this request does not belong into that topic.

The capture process is the same whether you capture a single drive pedal, or a preamp, or an amp + cab setup, or a combination of any of those. You can capture a drive pedal into a preamp into a power amp into a cab (cool!). It doesn’t matter; the hardware cannot detect what type of unit or rig it’s plugged into.

Over the years with the Quad Cortex, enough people requested for there to be more block symbols to visualize what a capture was on the grid, so Neural DSP added that. But it doesn’t change anything about the sound of the capture.

Ultimately there’s no point in asking for a “special category” for overdrive pedal captures only. So you’re still asking for the ability to put captures in a slot that’s different from where they’re allowed currently. And I agree that you should be able to do that.

Well it would be true except you could run one capture into another capture this way and make it sound great if it is a drive capture running into an amp capture. You could even stack overdrive captures like in real life. I hope you see the point.
