Good morning. I’m in Cortex Control and I have some screenshots in the downloads folder. I want to delete them but I can’t from Cortex Control. I can only delete them from the pedalboard. Is this correct? Are there functions that are only in the QC and are not enabled from Cortex Control?
Another question: why do some amp models come split into multiple devices if they are the same amp? For example the Mesa Boogie Lone Star comes in 8 modules…
Another question: How do I delete a scene? You can move and/or replace one with another, but how do I leave an empty scene?
you can in fact delete capture from the Cortex Control. Go to the “Neural Capture” grid on the left, click on downloads and click on the dots right to the capture you want to delete.
Those are not amp models but captures. as captures are what the name says, you have to have multiple captures to get different sounds from different settings. If you want to tweak amp settings within ONE block, stick to the Amp Models not captures
you can’t actually delete a scene. Depends on what you want from a scene you could either create a scene for muting the output or just duplicate your default scene to it. or if you don’t use 8 scenes, stick to the hybrid stomp/scene mode.
OP is referring to the eight “CA 1Star” (Mesa Boogie Lone Star) amp blocks, not captures.
Neural DSP has a robotic device they call “TINA” which attaches actuators to the knobs on the amps they are trying to emulate, while they listen to the output. The actuators turn the knobs so that they can gather data from every possible combination of bass, mid, treble, gain, level, etc., controls. From there, they put all of that data into algorithm stew which creates the amp block. Pretty damn cool.
The reason for the eight Lonestar amp blocks is simple: The TINA algorithm process was done separately for the Lonestar’s different channel/switch settings. 100W vs. 50W, normal vs. tweed, clean vs. drive. Likewise, several other amps in the QC are offered “per channel”. Compiling ALL of that data into a single amp block would make it very bloated and take up an unnecessary amount of processing power.
Thanks for the answers. The TINA device is interesting, I had seen some videos but I thought it was just marketing. In that case it makes sense that we see the same amplifier in different modules.
The MY CAPTURES folder is empty, as I haven’t taken any screenshots yet. I’m referring to the screenshots downloaded from the Cortex cloud. In the image I uploaded it is TW’s Bogna X Ch2 which is in green.
I also wanted to ask if the factory presets are sorted based on some kind of logic or are they rather listed randomly.
I hope my questions are answered for more users. Thanks for the help.
