New QC User..No Issues But

New QC user w/ a Laney LFR 112-While I have had the QC for 6-8 months-health issues forced me to leave it alone for a while. Been back at it now for several weeks.

RE: Sounds
Plugged into QC with Laney at a impromptu jam session. Many of the die hard “analog” folks laughed when setting up. All doubt was easily seen to leave their faces when the QC was left at 60%, the amp at 12 and hit the first chord. Yes! Vindicated!

Core OS Update:
Took about 45 minutes and I opted for the Mesa Boogie free package, which won’t be available yet. Should have chosen Plini.

Only 2 Issues is:
Recording:
The QC is my main audio interface. Yet when I hit record, I do not get the “processed” sound of the preset.
I can hear the preset thru my JBL studio monitors w/ no issue.

I also have some Neural Plugins purchased last year-when you assign that plugin to a track it sounds like there is the QC’s preset as well as the Soldano plugin-
How do you “Not Use” the QC presets and use just your purchased plugin?

Forgive me, I know this is something easy (probably) but am on information overload right now.
Thanks in advance (and to all the creators who have helped me)
Respectfully,
Mike

Have you looked at the usb settings, I think in default it’s outs 1 & 2 processed and 3 & 4 raw… if you’re sending 1 & 2 to your monitors and recording 3 & 4 that would explain it…

It’s the opposite by default.
USB 1 and 2 are DI, the preset lanes start at 3/4.
Use input channel 1 or 2 in your DAW if you need raw DI tone when using a plugin

Thanks for the clarification, I was queuing in a fast food restaurant when I posted and memory isn’t my #1 asset…

(OP should also be aware there’s a setting in i/o strings to reverse 1/2 and 3/4)

Thank you Steeevp, Xush,
Issue resolved.

I created additional inputs 3/4 in Studio One. Created a stereo track , performed a series of test recordings with various presets for tonal difference.
All recordings came out with the “Wet” sound.
Issue wasn’t with the QC-there was an ID-10-T error between the keyboard and Studio One!
This post also helped me with the “why” you would record a “dry” signal.
The magic word of the day (besides QC Rocks ) is re-amping)
Thanks again (for making me work)
Respectfully,
Mike

I should have thought to ask which DAW you were using. Studio One requires a little more manual setup I guess, actually creating or assigning new inputs or outputs. I’m mostly used to Logic and everything is already there, you just have to decipher the puzzle of which goes where and when.
Always good to work stuff out though- and you’ll enjoy reamping if you ever do that!
