Hi There folks - I took the plunge on a QC - I am wanting to use my Joyo Bantamp clean channel to power a speaker and use the QC for amp models and effects.
I have been told the 4CM is not perfect for this and to use the effects loop.
But I am really struggling to visualize how to connect it and need a description, can anyone advise/support?

Hello Nick and welcome to the forum. There’s lots info available in the manual, in other forum posts and on YouTube so I won’t go into the specifics here. For most folks, the idea is to be able to incorporate the preamp section of their real amp along with the virtual devices in their processor. I’ve never heard a Joyo amp but with all the great sounding amp models and captures in your Quad Cortex, you may want to simplify and just run out of one of the QC’s outputs into the FX return on the Joyo. This will allow you to get familiar with your new processor without the hassle and variables of the 4CM. Just make sure you get a suitable output level to your amp. This may take a little trial and error as amp manufacturers have never adopted a standard. If you really love the sound of the Joyo’s preamp section and want to incorporate it now, there’s plenty of information out there about the glory and the pain of the 4 cable method. Just be aware that it will likely take some time and cursing before you get it dialed in. Again, welcome!
I can’t recommend Rabeas Videos on this enough. He does a great job of explaining the setup to get good sounds very quick.
The 4CM with the QC is great. I use it Live with my Blackstar St James and it sounds phenomenal!
Thanks so much both , I have read the manual so many times , but oversimplified and simultaneously over complicated my thinking on it. I have just popped it into the FX Return and turned the cab modelling off and that’s allowed me to explore this massively - thanks both for your advice.
I think the forum is great, sometimes trawling through its hard to draw parallels specifically because everything has their nuance - but these responses have helped me get started !
