Nano Cortex 2.2.1 Update Issue

I am reaching out regarding a persistent issue I’m experiencing while trying to update my Nano Cortex to the latest firmware (v2.2.1). Despite numerous attempts, the update process fails at the final stage.

The Problem: The firmware download and transfer seem to complete (the progress bar fills up), and the Nano Cortex reboots itself. However, the Cortex Cloud app remains stuck on the “Transferring Firmware” screen with spinning arrows indefinitely. After waiting for more than 2 hours, if I restart the app, the device information still shows the old firmware version, and the update notification reappears.

Steps I Have Already Taken:

  • Hard Reset: Performed a factory reset by holding EXIT + SAVE while powering on.

  • Multiple Devices: Tried the update with two different smartphones (both iOS and Android).

  • Connectivity: Tried using only Cellular Data (4G/5G) and different Wi-Fi networks (with Google DNS 8.8.8.8).

  • Account: Logged out and created a new Neural DSP ID to rule out account-related sync issues.

  • Isolation: Kept the phone directly on top of the device and disabled “Auto-Lock” to ensure no Bluetooth interruption.

Could you please investigate if there is a known issue with this batch or if there is a way to force the update via a different method?

  • Current Firmware: 1.1.1

  • App Version: 2.8.0 Android

Same as you. Exactly same problem, same steps taken, no solution yet.

It has been more than 6 months and Neural still has not released any update nor nanocortex, as an owner, I feel like left alone in a desert.
Strange that there is no official announcement also.

Are you asking? All updates will be announced on NDSPs socials when available just as always.

fwiw I just exchanged messages with support over a MIDI glitch and they responded that it was known issue, that a fix has already been identified, and (as relevant to this topic) the fix will be included in an upcoming firmware release.

So who can say when that release will happen, but apparently there is one planned. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later because the midi glitch is annoying.

Yeah, many of us are waiting patiently for V2 capturing. They said they would add it in an update, hope it’s soon.

Cool; do you have a link to that? Curious how they’d do it given the Nano has no WiFi

No, I don’t have the link, but it’s very easy to find it, since they said it when they introduced v2 for the quad cortex, in the very same announcement.

I think it’s pretty easy to implement, given the Nano connects to the app, which can handle whatever it takes to make the profiles as long as you have it online.

Actually, what I can’t understand is why are they taking so much time. It’s the same capturing that they already have running for the QC… As I see it, they only need to upload the recordings made during the capturing process, and let their (already developed) algorithm to make the same it does with the QC.

Ah ok. Yes they said it’s under development, which I understood to mean “definitely maybe it’s coming”.
